Plan of Study for Transfer Students Majoring in Political Science

This is a planning guide for Political Science Majors who are entering Cal Poly in 2005-06 or 2006-07 as transfer students who have completed all of their lower division General Education Requirements. It is based on the assumption that, aside from an Introduction to American Government course (equivalent to PLS 201), none of the other required or support courses for the major have been taken. Of course, it is possible that a transfer student may also have already taken one or more of the required or support courses at the 200 level. In such cases, and depending on the number of credits needed for graduation, the student may be able to substitute free electives. It also assumes that the student has completed the equivalent of 90 credits towards the 180 needed for graduation. This plan is designed to allow the student to complete all of the remaining requirements in six quarters of work.

This page is not a substitute for regular meetings with your adviser. You still must meet with your adviser every quarter in order to have the registration hold removed.

FALL Quarter (1st Quarter at Cal Poly) - 13 units

WINTER Quarter (2nd Quarter at Cal Poly) - 16 units (29 total units)

SPRING Quarter (3rd Quarter at Cal Poly) - 16 units (45 total units)

FALL Quarter (4th Quarter at Cal Poly) - 16 units (61 total units)

WINTER Quarter (5th Quarter at Cal Poly) - 13-16 units (74-77 total units)

SPRING Quarter (16 Quarter at Cal Poly) - 16 units (90-93 units total)
