Many students attending California Community Colleges want to know whether or not particular classes they have taken at a Community College can transfer and be used for the Political Science Major at Cal Poly, Pomona. This page has been developed to help you determine which couses can be used and how they will be credited. It shows those Community College campuses that have entered into comprehensive articulation agreements with Cal Poly, Pomona.
This is an "unofficial" page meant to be used as a guide for students. The Cal Poly, Pomona, Registrar's Office is the ultimate authority on whether or not any particular course can be credited here. The information used is based on articulation agreements between Cal Poly and the specific Community College listed as of the 2003-2004 academic year. It is always possible that new agreements will be reached or that existing agreements will be revised or cancelled, so please double check with the Articulation Officer at Cal Poly or your Community College.
If you do not see your community college listed here, it does not mean that credits from your courses cannot be counted toward the major. All it means is that your campus and Cal Poly, Pomona, have not yet entered into a complete articulation agreement. If you are attending one of the other California Community Colleges (or any other college, for that matter), feel free to e-mail the Department Chair to ask about specific courses. It will be helpful if you can include a link to your campus' course descriptions (in the catalog) or attach an electronic copy of the syllabus when you make your request.
Also, transfer students may want to look at the Department's course planning guide which includes a section that lays out a schedule of courses for Political Science majors who transfer in after having completed all of the lower division General Education requirements.
