File Transfers

Storing files on the Cal Poly server:

On campus: Save the file(s) to the "z" drive, just as you would to any other drive.

Off campus:

(The following procedure works fine using Internet Explorer running on Windows XP, but does not seem to work using Mozilla Firefox or Netscape.  Feedback from other users would be appreciated. Please write me at jlkorey@csupomona.edu.)

• Save your file(s) on a drive in or connected to your computer.  
• In your browser's address window, type "ftp://username@ftp.csupomona.edu," where "username" is your Cal Poly computer account user name.
• Enter your password.
• Click on "Folders."  Drag and drop your file(s) to the ftp folder.

Alternatively, you can use a dedicated File Transfer Protocol (FTP) program to do the job.
