Peter Yates & Buzz Gravelle
Cal Poly Pomona faculty members Peter Yates and Buzz Gravelle present a program of new and re-envisioned solos and duets for guitar, mandolin, and arpeggione (a guitar/cello hybrid). Music by J.S. Bach, Yates,  Gravelle, Grasse, and others. Classical guitar fans and others interested in hearing plucked-string repertoire outside of the norm should not miss this event.  A dynamic program of unique music.

Music and Culture from Mediterranean Italy
MUSICÁNTICA - Roberto Catalano and Enzo Fina
A Southern Italian duo playing traditional and experimental Folk Music of Mediterranean Italy. With music performed on mostly traditional Italian folk instruments ~ the launeddas and benas with cow horn (Sardinian cane clarinets), putipù (friction drum), tamburieddhru (frame drum), chitarra battente (ten string Renaissance guitar), mandolin, bouzouki (Greek lute), mule bell collar, sheep bells, and marranzanu (jaw harp). Unless you are an Italian native, it’s unlike anything you’ve heard before.

Sleep:  A S'Real S'Rvey of the Nightscape

Dreams are the subjects of “Sleep,” music-theater for storyteller, dancers, video puppets, microtonal guitars and percussion. The piece draws its inspiration from variety shows, dance recitals, poetry readings, traditional theater, radio theater, world music and classical music. Occasionally, the music melts.
