Advising

All economics majors are encouraged to seek out advice from any of the faculty in the department. Students may select their own advisor. They may change their advisors but are encouraged to work with one advisor over time to build a working relationship.

All at risk economics students with a GPA below 2.2 have an automatic hold on their registration and must go to see the chair or her designate for advising. At risk students must complete and sign an at risk contract. After completing the contract which is signed by both the student and the advisor (usually the dept. chair) the student submits it to the department's secretary and she removes the registration hold. The completed contract is placed in the student's academic history file in the department's office.
