The Academy for Literacy through the Arts offers free & low-cost out-of-school classes in addition to a comprehensive Summer Arts Academy. Need-based scholarships are available for all classes and programs. No child is turned away for lack of funds.

Arts education promotes learning, creativity, skills, and knowledge in the visual and performing arts, learning that is valuable in itself. Through the arts, students can explore socio-political ideas, develop understanding of other cultures, and develop positive social behaviors such as empathy and attitudes against prejudice and racism.

The Downtown Center provides a wide variety of services, programs, and oppportunities to children and families in the city of Pomona and its surrounding communities. It is located in the heart of downtown in the Pomona Arts Colony at 300 W. Second Street, Pomona, CA 91766 (at the intersection of 2nd and Main).
