Cal Poly Pomona Downtown Center Gallery Presents
Tres Mundos: Tres Expresiónes Latino Art Exhibit

Who:

A collaboration between three master painters brings us snapshots of Latino life in the western hemisphere.   Mexican painter Roberto Rosique, Hispanic-American painter Gregg Stone and Chicano artist Emigdio Vasquez combine efforts to bring us this unique exhibit.

What:

This exhibit shows three diverse painting styles representing the contrasting lives of Latinos in the western hemisphere.   Stone's watercolors depict the realities of daily Mexican life, Rosique's oils represent surreal visions of crossing the border and Vasquez's oils portray narratives on Chicano life in Los Angeles.   The three visions of Latino life examine the realities, visions and nightmares Latinos experience today.   There will be live Latin Jazz in conjunction with the opening reception.

When:

Saturday, November 8, thru December 17 . Opening reception is November 12 6p.m. - 9p.m .   Second reception is Saturday December 10 6p.m. - 9p.m.

Cal Poly Pomona Downtown Center 300 W. Second Street, in Pomona. .

Why:

Visit the Cal Poly Pomona Downtown Center, located in the heart of the Pomona Arts Colony- the opening reception is held in conjunction with the Arts Colony's Second Saturday Artwalk event with free gallery openings, live music, shops and restaurants all in a 6 block radius.

Ticketing:

Both the reception and the exhibit are open to the public, free of charge.

Cal Poly Pomona Downtown Center Gallery Presents
Chevere Latin Jazz Band with Rudy Regalado

Who:

Latin Jazz band Chevere with band leader and percussionist Rudy Regalado play at the Downtown Center in conjunction with the November exhibit.

What:

Percussionist Rudy Regalado leads the five person ensemble Chevere in celebrating the opening of the Tres Mundos: Tres Expreciónes exhibit at the Downtown Center.   Rudy and the band will play many Latin Jazz hits. This concert is sponsored by the Los Angeles County Arts Commission and the Recording Industries' Music Performance Fund through the assistance of the Professional Musicians Union Local 47.

Saturday, November 12 .during the Opening reception 6p.m. - 8p.m .
