Cal Poly Pomona Downtown Center Gallery Presents
Paintings... by MICHAEL MAAS

Who:

Artist Michael Maas exhibits prolifically in Los Angeles and Orange Counties.   Maas is a self-taught artist who has been painting for 27 years. Maas has raced bicycles in Europe and worked in the financing field.

What:

The June/July 2006 exhibit at the Cal Poly Pomona Downtown Center features never before seen paintings by Michael Maas. In his paintings, Maas explores surrealistic themes, lulling the viewer into a comfortable space with their organic and recognizable elements.   Maas works in acrylic on canvas, sometimes using many canvases to repeat a pattern suggesting that what we see in the confines of one frame is not the totality of the picture.   This exhibit is curated by George Cuttress.
