Notes on Classes

World Dance and Cultures DAN 202 (4) and Live Dance Appreciation DAN 230 (4) both meet the lower division GE requirement for AREA C-1 Humanities/Fine Arts.

Dance Improvisation    DAN 320  (4) is usually offered Spring Quarter.
Choreography    DAN 430  (4) is usually offered Fall Quarter.

Dance and its Artistic/Cultural Influences DAN 446 (4) is usually offered once a year, in Winter or Spring Quarter.  It meets Upper Division GE requirement for Humanities Synthesis in Area C.

Dance In Contemporary Culture   DAN 449 (4) is usually offered twice a year in Fall Quarter and either Winter or Spring.  It meets Upper Division GE requirement for Interdisciplinary Synthesis in Area C or D.

New Dance & Cultures Capstone Project DAN 480  (4) is an independent study course with a dance project, such as choreographing for the Student/Faculty Dance Concert, which is a culmination of  the Dance Minor studies.

While competing the minor there are numerous performance opportunities and ways to explore choreography. The Dance Minor is an excellent compliment to any Major, and can be a great asset/distinction to have on your transcript. It shows you to be a complex student with an appreciation for the Arts and Humanities.
