Part-Time / Temporary Lecturers



The Institute of New Dance and Cultures at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) invites lecturers to become members of our part-time temporary lecturers pool. The Institute is a small production-oriented dance minor and dance option for undergraduates. The emphasis is on modern dance, world arts and cultures, interdisciplinary, and multicultural Teaching Areas include all areas of Technique, theory, and creative work.

Appointments: Part-time, temporary lecturer appointments are usually made for one academic quarter (approximately 11 weeks) at fractions usually ranging from 4/15 to 12/15 of full-time; multiple quarter appointments are possible. Incumbents may be reappointed to subsequent quarters contingent upon funding and favorable performance evaluations.

The University:

The College:
The College of Letters, Arts, and Social Sciences advances knowledge and learning in established academic disciplines in the humanities, social sciences, and performing arts. It provides introductory and advanced course work in more than 20 degree and certificate programs.

The Department:
The Institute of New Dance and Cultures is a small production-oriented dance minor and dance option for undergraduates. The emphasis is on modern dance and world arts and culture. The Institute is also interested in experimental and alternative dance forms. The Institute promotes interdisciplinary and multicultural projects and is active in community engagement and partnerships, including integrative artistic approaches. The Institute has a dance performance lab, computer lab, and access to other facilities, which include a 500-seat proscenium theatre, music recital hall, and community outreach center in downtown Pomona.
