Cal Poly Wins "Outstanding Delegation" Award at Model UN

Cal Poly Pomona’s 2008 National Model United Nations team accomplished another stellar performance at the annual NMUN conference, held April 21-26 in New York City, winning a coveted “Outstanding Delegation” Award, the highest honor presented by the national conference. Also, for the sixth time in the last eight years, the delegation won an “Outstanding Position Paper” Award. All of these accomplishments were done under the tutelage of faculty advisor and Professor of History John Moore.
In Memoriam: Dr. Mohammed Al-Saadi:

With great sadness, we report the death of Dr. Mohammed Al-Saadi. Mohammed passed away on Tuesday, April 8, after a long struggle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Susan and their son Sami.
Mock Trial Team Excels in Finals:

Cal Poly students performed phenomenally at the American Mock Trial Association Desert Classic National Tournament in Tucson, Arizona, on March 15-16. Team member James Perry's performance as lead prosecuting attorney earned him a coveted "All National Outstanding Attorney Award." Ella Tarnate and Sara Yohay both received perfect scores for their portrayals of a crime victim and an expert trial witness, respectively.
