The Philosophy Department at Cal Poly Pomona has organized its programs to meet both the abstract and the practical philosophical interests of its students. Our programs allow students to pursue the traditional questions about the nature of truth, knowledge, justice and reality while examining the relevance of these questions to the problems of contemporary society.
The music department is proud to offer coursework leading to a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. We have over 200 majors choosing career paths in music education, music industry studies, music performance, and interdisciplinary studies.

The Institute’s vision is to reflect a culturally diverse and artistically inclusive student-centered approach to the dance experience at Cal Poly Pomona. “New Dance and Cultures” refers to a humanistic, cross-cultural, interdisciplinary approach to the study of the way art functions in society on a personal, local, national, and global level.
We offer two major tracks and a minor for undergraduates. We also have a Master’s Program specifically designed for primary and secondary-level school teachers who wish to develop their research skills and deepen their content knowledge of American or World history.

The Department of English and Foreign Languages offers programs leading to a Bachelor of Arts in English, a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, and a Master of Arts in English. In addition, the department offers minors in English, Spanish and French as well as elementary courses in Arabic and intermediate sequences in German and Chinese.
The department serves the university by providing courses that contribute to the general education of all students and by developing vocational proficiencies to meet the needs of the undergraduate economics majors.
